   Literal equations have more than one letter.  For example, y = mx + b is an example of a literal equation.  Sometimes we're given an equation solved for one letter and we'd like to solve it instead for another letter.  For example, y = mx + b is solved for y, but we might want it solved for x.  After solving for another letter, the answer can often be rewritten in several equivalent ways.  In 7.4 you'll practice some of the common ways to rewrite answers so that when you solve literal equations in 7.5 you're able to change the way your answer looks if your answer and my answer don't look the same.
