One reason linear functions are popular is that they’re easy to build. A common form for linear functions is known as slope-intercept form, y = mx + b, where the letter m is replaced with the value for the slope and the letter b is replaced with the y-coordinate of the y-intercept. After successfully completing these videos, you'll be able to build and apply linear functions.  This material is covered on pages 91-94 in our text.
