There are four common ways to solve quadratic equations.  You practiced the first when you used the zero-product method in chapter 5.  Today you'll practice the second which uses the square root/squaring inverse relationship to solve one type of quadratic equation.  This material is covered on pages 307 through 312 in the Engaging Algebra textbook.

7.1 The Square Root Method

After practicing with these videos you'll be able to solve quadratic equations using the idea that squaring "undoes" a square root.
