Equalities assume two expressions are equal.  Sometime though one expression is greater than or less than another.  These are known as inequalities.  Today's lesson first helps you build the solution set for an inequality and then practices solving linear inequalities.  This material is covered in pages 99 through 109 in the Engaging Algebra textbook.

2.5 The Solution Set for a Linear Inequality

Unlike a linear equation, which often has one solution, an inequality often has an infinite number of solutions.  After this lesson you'll be able to use three common ways to express an infinite solution set.

2.6 Solving Linear Inequalities

After successfully completing this lesson you'll be able to solve, and write the solution set for, a linear inequality.  Please make sure you've completed the previous lesson before starting this one since you'll need that information to express the solution set once you've solved the inequality.
